ADOPTED
Caldecote Conservation Area
Understand the background and implications for you
Background
2022: Heritage & Conservation at North Warwickshire Borough Council identified Caldecote as being an area of special consideration for conservation and engaged Land Use Consultants Ltd (LUC) to begin research into the parish.
Aug 2023: LUC presented their findings, identifying the unique aesthetics of the layout, landscape and individual buildings that had developed over centuries of activity and that define Caldecote's uniqueness. That report can be found here
Oct 2023: A consultation began regarding the proposed conservation area for Caldecote and during a meeting and following that, residents were invited to comment or propose changes, having had an opportunity to read through the LUC report.
Dec 2023: A Conservation Area was adopted by North Warwickshire Borough Council as shown below, though sadly, residents did not discover this collectively until Sept 2024 and are unaware of the expectaitons on them to preserve it. Other residents have felt their comments were not taken on board from the consultation
Feb 2025: Following communication with NWBC, a follow-up meeting was organised for 06 February where questions were answered regarding the designated area, tree and property management going forwards - see minutes and details of the consultation
Adopted Conservation Area
The map below identifies the area designated as a conservation area. To understand the impacts of this, Caldecote residents and developers are encouraged to read the above report and find information below from NWBC:
